The benefits to our client's, unlike other consultancies is that we are able to represent their interest right up to the Sheriff Court.  A practice which previously required Commercial Consultants to pass the "mantel" to a Court Solicitor.      As a Commercial Attorney we are now able stand in the shoes of such solicitor and represent our Client in Sheriff Court.

Following the Lord President of Scotland, the Scottish Government and the Office of Fair Trading approval in May 2009 and by virtue of the scheme to which effect was given by the Act of Sederunt (Sections 25 to 29 of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990) (Association of Commercial Attorneys) 2009, members of the Association of Commercial Attorneys who are properly qualified and trained may exercise certain rights to conduct litigation and certain rights of audience in the sheriff court.



The Association of Commercial Attorneys has therefore been approved to represent parties in the Sheriff Courts in matters relating to construction and building law.
